I’ve been inspired by the natural world for as long as I can remember. From growing up in Africa, with its bright blue skies, and hot, bleached colours, to the misty Welsh mountains that now watch over my walks.
As a child I spent hours drawing, but it was a love that I lost for a time as I went on to study Psychology and English. Luckily I had the opportunity to return to study fine art in my early 30s and the love was quickly rekindled. Since then, I’ve been trying to capture the light and landscapes of my travels around the world through my artwork.
I work from my studio on the outskirts of Cardiff, surrounded by the kaleidoscopic colour of my cottage garden and the wild flowers and landscape vistas of south Wales. I find inspiration in the everyday detail that we often pass by, and I try to encapsulate both small moments and significant memories in my work.
